In order to help you select the maple syrup you enjoy best our maple syrup is assigned one of the four grades from the USDA. The different grades are all of the same quality and are only intended to reflect the flavor that one can expect from the syrup. Below you will find a brief description (in our own words) for each of the USDA grades.
Grade A Light Amber - This grade has the lightest color and also a very delicate maple flavor. Typically this grade is made during the very beginning of the season when the sap runs are brief and short.
Grade A Medium Amber - A deep golden color and a nicely balanced maple flavor make this the middle of the road for the different grades.
Grade A Dark Amber - If you enjoy a very full bodied and robust maple flavor this is your grade of maple syrup. This grade can also be used to sweeten coffee and for topping ice cream.
Grade B (Far Right) - While losing a letter grade in school is bad news it is not the case with maple syrup grades (until you get to Grade C). This grade is of the same quality as the rest of the grades and is used for all syrups darker than the Dark Amber grade. Being the darkest grade also means it has the most robust maple flavor.
